Hello, today I´m going to talk about what I did the last weekend. I am part of a mountain club, and we had planned to go to "Cerro Arenas" (4366 MASL). "Cerro Arenas" is a mountain in the Andes Mountains, Metropolitan Region, Chile, specifically located in the "Valle del Arenas". On Saturday we met in Macul subway, but the car battery had a problem, luckily we were in two cars so they passed current and it was resolved. After that we drived to “Cajón del Maipo”. We started the march to the base camp at about two thirty pm, and at five pm we were already setting up our tents. Sunday was an intense day, we started walking at four am and it took us 10 hours to the summit, this hill is characterized by having a lot of “acarreo” that is a hillside composed of loose material, usually a mixture of pebbles, gravel, stones and rocks of smaller size, which delays the march. My favourite piece of technology is my Jetboil, it is a lightweight portable stove which it's use with gas and fire. It's very functional when i go to the mountain, because i can melt snow, cook, and boil water in a few minutes, so that's why is very important to take it with me in every mountain trip. My mom gave it to me on my birthday last year and i use it principally in cold places to boil water and then put the water on my water bottle and use it as a "güaterito" in cold nights. I go to the mountain a lot so i use very much my Jetboil, and since i have it i sleep very warm. Sometimes i think about how my life was before my Jetboil, and the truth is i don’t want to remember those horrible cold nights, or the stomach aches because of not boiling the water.

My career María Jesús Vergara

When I was a child, I used to love cars and trucks a lot, so I wanted to work in the garbage truck when I was older. I also was very sensitive to animals (still be) so I wanted to be a vet too and moved to Africa and help all those wild animals. When I was at high school I used to really like philosophy and psychology classes, and start imagining me studying something like that. I first entered to Bachillerato at "Universidad de Chile", and my principal options were psychology and anthropology, but in the end, I decided for psychology because I wanted to work in something more relationated in help people, and I think mental health is something fundamental in people life. My experience at university until now is amazing, I´m always learning something new about human relations and life, the only thing that's difficult is to apply all that knowledge in my relations. For now, I think I would like to work in something relationated with communities and bring psychological hel...
